Manuel Santos

In recent years, Manuel’s influences have most prominently been Dub, Trip Hop, Broken Beat and Experimental Downtempo. However, he is currently drawing inspiration particularly from Glitch Hop and IDM. Along with his constant experimentation comes the continual search for new, unique sounds and structures. By fusing analog and digital resources, Manuel creates a mélange of sound textures.Innate music; Manuel was a guitarist and singer from an early age, along with his formation of all that is musical. He has studied audio programming (on Max MSP),  psychoacoustics, and everything in between.

He has also composed multiple projects for collaboration with other mediums, such as film. Nevertheless, when the time comes to experiment, Manuel has alwaysppreciated intuition. Lately, improvisation and instincts have been inherent pillars of his philosophy.
The year 2001 signified a notable transformation: when Manuel initiated the use of digital resources and software in his compositions, consequently beginning his ascent to Electronica. Over the next few years he followed suite by experimenting and assimilating on various programs, setups and platforms. In October of 2005, Manuel’s focus on live performance via the dance floor gave him Transeunte, his minimalist and glitch alter ego. Transeunte encouraged Manuel’s electronic and urban stylings, furthering his pursuit of sonorous creativity.
There started a new cycle of live presentations which made use of the acclaimed Ableton Live. Manuel manipulated the program through the operation of both peripheries and MIDI controllers, provided that the persecution itself was in real time. In 2007 he conglomerated the two methods, confirming the essential unity within the dualism.
An important outlet for Manuel’s musical orientation is the production of other artists in his personal studio Vibracion. A few of his specific projects have been composing for the contemporary tango band REVIRADO, as well as his work with singer Sofia Ortiz, also known as Geisha.
